Tiree is one of the UK's best watersports destinations with mild weather and an abundance of wind and waves. Wild Diamond is a local business offering lessons for beginners and experts alike across a variety of wind and wave sports. All instructors are fully qualified. The windsurfing school is based on Loch Bhasapol, a shallow fresh water loch while lessons for the more advanced can be arranged at any one of the superb beaches dotted around the island's rugged coast line. It is also possible to buy or hire equipment from the Wild Diamond Shop, based in the township of Cornaig.

Historic Sites
Ringing Stone
The Ringing stone or Clach a’Choire is a 30 minute walk along the shoreline from Rockvale. Believed to be an erratic boulder deposited by a glacier during the Ice Age the ringing stone produces a metallic clang when hit by another stone. It stands propped up by smaller stones and has many mysterious cup-shaped hollows in it.
Wildlife and Birdwatching
Tiree is a popular destination for birdwatchers. The rich machair, wet moorlands and lochs provide perfect habitats for all types of waterfowl, waders and the evasive corncrake. The RSPB has a warden on Tiree who can provide up to date sightings and information for bird watchers. Tiree is also home to a variety of wild animals. Hares, hedgehogs and seals are all common sights. For those up early enough an otter may be spotted on the beach. The sea off Tiree also plays host to a wide range of marine life, Basking sharks and Common dolphins can all be seen as can the occasional Minke or Killer Whale. There are also hundreds of rock pools filled with shore crabs, sea anemones, small fish, winkles and starfish.

Rockvale is surrounded by Corncrakes in the summer months and if you don't actually see one you will certainly hear them!
Island Events
Throughout the year there are dances in An Talla, Tiree’s community hall. These are well attended by both locals and visitors alike. Tiree is lucky to have a selection of excellent local musicians and bands. Skipinnish and Skerryvore are both established ceilidh bands from the island while Trail West are an up and coming band based on Tiree.
Tiree also hosts an Agricultural Show, Tiree Music Festival, Feis, Regatta, Sports day, Wave Classic Windsurfing competition and 10 K run throughout the year. For more information on any of these events please check Tiree’s community website.Shops
