About Tiree
The Isle of Tiree is the outermost of the Inner Hebrides and is renowned for its miles of beautiful white sandy beaches. Due to its scenic beauty, watersports, wildlife and peaceful relaxed pace Tiree makes an ideal holiday destination. Thanks to the influence of the Gulf stream Tiree benefits from a milder climate than the Scottish mainland and we also some of the highest recorded hours of sunshine for the UK. The island is 12 miles long and varies in width from one to six miles. Due to its flat and fertile land agriculture is Tiree’s main industry. The tourism industry, public sector and fishing also provide jobs for the island’s 800 residents.
